Quick Chek began in l967 when its founder, Carlton C. Durling made it an extension of his established dairy business known as Durling Farms. A privately held, family owned firm, Quick Chek operates more than 115 stores throughout New Jersey and New York and employs more than 2400 team members.Quick Chek grew from its very first location in Dunellen, New Jersey to its present position as a premier chain of food stores in the state. Conceptually, the company was founded on the principle of “value-added” marketing. In essence, Quick Chek was conceived to provide the ease of shopping associated with convenience stores with a more expansive range of products and services with better values.

This notion became a reality and Quick Chek redefined the term “convenience store”. Quick Chek remains a market leader in food-service with an exceptional fresh coffee and fresh food program that has raised the bar for the entire industry.

Because quality and customer service are paramount, Quick Chek has a research and development team that analyzes customer needs, market trends and services that can ease and enhance the customers’ life and shopping experience. Today, the firm remains headquartered in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey where its marketing and merchandising team works with operations and management in the quest to remain at the top of the game.

Quick Chek is famous for firsts. The company was an innovator in offering no fee ATM services, fresh food choices, a renowned 20-minute freshness guarantee for its coffee program, oven toasted subs, signature sandwiches, salads and wraps. Quick Chek also utilizes extensive training in motivational programs, sales and marketing initiatives and customer service. The quality of the time customers’ spend in the store is of extreme importance to Quick Chek. It truly is a people-first firm, delivering both products and services in an exemplary manner in order to truly delight the guests who visit each and everyday.

In addition to the traditional food stores, Quick Chek also operates twelve pharmacy stores and fifteen stores that include gas stations.
