Franciscan Villa has been providing quality health care services to residents of Southeastern Wisconsin for more than thirty-five years. In 1966, the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota assumed ownership of the Villa as part of their health care ministry. The Franciscan Sisters transferred ownership of the Villa to Catholic Health Corporation of Omaha, Nebraska in 1993. Catholic Health Corporation and two other Catholic health care systems sponsored by 12 congregations of women religious united in 1996 to form Catholic Health Initiatives. Franciscan Villa became a corporate member of Catholic Health Initiatives and the Franciscan Sisters maintained affiliation as a sponsoring member. Catholic Health Initiatives spans 19 states and operates 68 hospitals and 43 long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, and residential units in 68 rural and urban communities; it represents more than 67,000 employees and is one of the largest Catholic health care organization in the United States. The voices of the entire Catholic Health Initiatives family proclaim a commitment to a shared mission, vision and core values that respect a rich tradition.

Rehabilitation
Franciscan Villa offers a full array of inpatient, outpatient, and short stay rehabilitation services provided to pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients. Physical and Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists provide individualized programs to help residents or clients maximize their recovery progress. Specialized rehab programs are designed for balance deficits, orthopedic, neurological and occupational injuries, joint replacements, lymphedema, and pediatric assessment and treatment.
Intergenerational Services
Our focus on Intergenerational programming is apparent daily as we “embrace the generations.” Children in the day center interact with residents and participants throughout the campus; the adult and child day centers are adjacent, allowing the children and adult day center participants special closeness throughout the day.
The Adult Day Center provides services to participants who wish to remain in the community, yet demonstrate a need for socialization, companionship, and personal care. Program amenities include a protective and comfortable environment, hot meals and snacks, health care monitoring, personal care, organized activity programming, intergenerational activities, rehabilitation, and medication administration.
Early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration, and discovery. Our intergenerational program encourages learning by building friendships with older adults and seniors. Both young and old develop a feeling of being safe, valued, and loved. The preschool-oriented curriculum encourages social interaction, hands-on activities, and teacher-guided activities using age-appropriate equipment. Children are encouraged to explore new concepts and experience unknown wonders. Our Child Day Center has been an integral part of Franciscan Villa for over 20 years.
Memory Care Services
The full range of memory care services is found in four separate yet connected programs:
Franciscan Gardens, offers one and two bedroom assisted living units that provide seniors experiencing early memory loss the ability to maintain an apartment lifestyle with security and support systems in place that promote safe and healthy living.
Francis House, an assisted living facility serves mid to end-stage memory loss. Its small “neighborhood” design and cozy atmosphere provide comfort and safety in a secure environment.
The LEAD Unit (Life Enhancement for Alzheimer’s and Dementia), within the skilled care facility, offers 24-hour care to residents with more complex physical and emotional needs.
The late stage dementia and related disorders program concentrates on therapeutic activity, spiritual, and personal care services. Clinical support includes nutritional assessment and monitoring as well as therapy when appropriate. The active participation of families and significant others is encouraged and caregiver support groups are available to provide networking, education, and support.
