Our Lady of the Way Hospital is a non-profit, 25-bed, critical access care facility located on Highway 1428 in Martin, Kentucky. As a member of Catholic Health Initiatives, the hospital has been sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, Ohio since 1982. Previously, the hospital was owned and operated by the Sisters of Divine Providence of Melbourne, Kentucky who founded the hospital in 1947.
Our Lady of the Way Hospital's Christian philosophy distinguishes it from Floyd County's other two hospitals. Holistic, personalized care is provided through the hospital's clinical services which include pastoral care and social work.
Our Lady of the Way Hospital's medical staff includes specialists in family practice, gynecology, radiology, internal medicine and surgery. The courtesy staff includes specialists in rheumatology, pain management, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, psychiatry, and urology. The emergency room is staffed 24-hours per day, seven days per week by contract physicians specializing in emergency care.
Our Lady of the Way Hospital employs approximately 178 people. The hospital's personnel are trained, licensed, and competent. The average employee has more than 10 years of experience in his or her field of expertise. Continuing education opportunities are provided through in-service and other professional programs.
